Feeling like there are not enough hours in the day this time of year? We know how busy year end is for small business owners. We’re excited to announce a number of improvements to the year-end filing process.
Our designers and developers have been working overtime to streamline W2/W3 filing, as you can see below:
We’ve created custom download packs that contain only the necessary W2s for each step. Step 1 contains all the employee copies, step 3 contains the state copies, and step 4 contains copies for your own records.
We completely agree that this process involves entirely too much paperwork, so we’ve worked hard to digitize whenever possible. For federal filing with the SSA (Social Security Administration), we’ve taken advantage of their e-file option this year. You can register for an account in minutes and upload the file in seconds — no more snail mail.
Still too much paperwork? We’re also going to be making employees’ W2s available on their personal Wave account. Just make sure you’ve invited your employees to Wave from your payroll account. (They can also check their paystubs in this personal account!)
Finally, we’re happy to introduce the US Payroll Tax Corner in the Wave Community Space forum. Given the variety and complexity of the US tax code we thought it would be beneficial to create a community to bring together small business owners facing the same payroll tax issues.
Learn a little trick that makes local filing much easier? Share it with other small business owners in your area in your state’s payroll tax thread.
Hit a roadblock in the filing process and not sure how to proceed? Ask away! With the number of Payroll users growing on a daily basis, it’s likely that another Wave customer has faced the issue in the past and may be able to help you through it.
Our support heroes and payroll tax experts will also keep an eye on the forums to assist whenever we can.
If you have any questions about this or anything else, please reach out to our Customer Support Heroes for help!
